AYpearl.com teach you the Ways to Differentiate Crystal from Glass
|

According to European Union rules, glass goods containing less than 4%
lead are defined as "glass". Goods containing more than 10% lead are
defined as "crystal".
Across the globe, there are different standards that are employed in
various countries around the world that determine if the quality and
lead content of a particular substance can be properly classified as
crystal or if the item should be identified as glass. Even within some
countries, the qualities that must be present in order for glass to
earn the title of crystal jewelry may vary.
On the market, there is many glass jewelry sold in the name of jewelry .
The difference between glass and crystal is evident to the eye, and we
can see it when a crystal chandelier casts color spectrums through the
whole room. The higher the lead content, the more dazzling the
chandelier, but glass is non-crystalline. Scratch the surface, if the
jewelry is made of glass, it will have scratching, but crystal jewelry
will not as it is much harder.
Besides, you can lick with your tongue on the surface of the jewelry,
if it is of crystal, you will feel cold and cool. Put the jewelry on a
hair, real crystal jewelry can have double refraction, while glass
jewelry can not.
Of course, there are professional ways, such as using magnifying glass
or thermal conductivity instrument.

Oh,
y'all, guess what??? One of our Soldiers from Ft. Campbell, CW2 Don C.
Woods (who goes by Charles), came to the office today to see the Hero's
Wall of Fame for himself, and meet "the face behind the popsicles..."
LOL! He got home from Iraq Nov. 20th, and is headed out to Utah on
leave Friday. He'll be back to Ft. Campbell Jan. 5, and is
outprocessing there, to move to Ft. Huachuca, AZ. When he comes back to
outprocess, he's going to come meet the rest of the Roberts bunch,
since he's heard so much about everyone in letters but hasn't actually
met any of the characters.
His wife had e-mailed me his
cellphone number and asked me to call him because he wanted to meet his
biggest supporter before he left Ft. Campbell, so I called him this
morning. He said he had some time free after lunch, and I gave him
directions to the office. He showed up about 1:30 - with flowers. If
I'd known he was coming over today, I would have brought my camera to
work; fortunately, Cathie Gibbs has a new digital camera that she
carries with her everywhere she goes, so she took a picture and is
supposed to bring her cable tomorrow to download it to my computer.
Charles also brought his camera, and had Cathie take a picture of us
together, so maybe he'll e-mail me that one.
The
poor guy probably felt like the subject of "Show and Tell," because I
had to introduce him to everybody in the building. He said he didn't
mind a bit, though. Everyone had to either hug him or shake his hand.
He had to tell his story over and over again...yes, he just got back
from 13 months in Iraq; yes, he has children - 4 boys, ages 5, 7, 10,
and 12; no, he hasn't seen his children since he got back - they're in
Utah; yes, he's stationed at Ft. Campbell, but will soon be in Arizona,
at Ft. Huachuca; no, he won't be going back to Iraq any time soon; it
was his second deployment; he's been in the Army for 14 years and has 6
to go...etc. etc. All in all, it was an awesome visit. I can't wait for
the rest of the Roberts bunch to meet him. We don't get to meet very
many of our heroes face to face...he's only the second one so far...
Oh,
and we got our first Christmas card of the year yesterday. It came from
a Soldier in Iraq. So far it's been a good week. Y'all have a good'un,
and I'll type at ya later.

Our children in the military
Does anyone know how to find addresses to our children in Afghanistan?
I suffered a bad divorce and the X is a very controlling person. She will not share my son’s address with me and I’ve not heard from Paul in almost 7 months. I would sure love to hear from him and how he’s doing.
Thank you sincerely
